Italian actress Monica Bellucci talked with Telegraph about her role in the upcoming movie “SPECTRE”.
In particular she talked about working with Daniel Craig: “Daniel is so generous as an actor and a man, so I was never uncomfortable” she said talking about their intimate scenes in the movie, “When you have to do intimate scenes with someone, it’s so important for the chemistry to be there – because then it becomes more like a tango.”
She added. ”But I don’t think it’s a coincidence that a lot of roles I’m playing now are women coming out of the darkness into the light because feel that ageing has given me a new freedom.”
She also talked about the first time she was called from Sam Mendes, and what she thought about her role: ‘I thought they wanted me to play the new M. I really did but when Sam explained that he wanted ‘an adult woman to seduce Bond for the first time, I realised that this was going to be revolutionary. It is such a beautiful example to set for other actresses and other women.”
She continued talking about how she lives her age, and in particular her five-year-old daughter seeing her in a new simsuit and saying her “Mama, you’re explosifying!”. “They’ve told me so many things in my life” she said “but thtat was the biggest compliment I have ever received, and that’s not even a word!”
