On what would have been Sir Roger Moore’s 90th birthday weekend, the studio he called home for over 40 productions has today unveiled ‘The Roger Moore Stage’ in his honour.

HRH The Countess of Wessex opened the stage, and led the afternoon celebration of 300 cast, crew, family and friends.

On-stage tributes came from Dame Joan Collins, Sir Michael Caine, Bond producers Michael G. Wilson & Barbara Broccoli and, on behalf of UNICEF, David Walliams. Featuring live music from the Julian Rachlin Quartet and Q The Music, several of the star’s film vehicles adorned the stately studio gardens – including the submarine Lotus Esprit from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, the Volvo P1800 from ‘The Saint’ and the Aston Martin DBS from ‘The Persuaders’ – as a capacity crowd – including Stefanie Powers, Stephen Fry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Lord Grade of Yarmouth, Sir Tim Rive along with Bond girls Madeline Smith (‘Live and Let Die’), Gloria Hendry (‘Live and Let Die’) and Lynn-Holly Johnson (‘For Your Eyes Only’) – enjoyed a post ceremony afternoon tea.

Lasy Moore and the stars three children paid an emotional end tribute, saying just how proud Roger would be to see his name dominate the Pinewood lot.

007 ELEMENTS: A James Bond Cinematic Installation

007 Elements Cinemastic Experience at Soloden

007 ELEMENTS is the new James Bond cinematic installation opening this winter built inside the summit of the Gaislachkogl Mountain in Sölden. The name 007 ELEMENTS reflects the visitor’s journey through a series of galleries, each distilling the craft of the signature elements that define a James Bond film. The installation will focus on SPECTRE, which was shot in Sölden, but will also feature other titles in the James Bond franchise.

The collaboration between the project’s Creative Director Neal Callow (Art Director on CASINO ROYALE, QUANTUM OF SOLACE, SKYFALL and SPECTRE) and Optimist Inc. Head of Design Tino Schaedler and his team has resulted in an immersive, interactive, and educational experience that places visitors inside the world of 007 while revealing how that world is made.

“Our aim with 007 ELEMENTS is to tell the narrative of the Bond story in an emotional and engaging way”, said Callow. “We want to use this incredible location to place our guests into Bond’s environment, and bring the stories to life in a unique and unforgettable way.”

Located 3,050 meters above sea level, the 1,300 square meter building has been constructed within the mountain and is arranged over two levels. Blending seamlessly with its surroundings, the impressive structure reveals itself through a tunnel and unfolds into two main areas offering spectacular views of the Tyrolean valleys.

The bespoke new building to house the installation was designed and is currently being constructed by Obermoser Architects. Tyrolean architect Johann Obermoser and his team have been planning and realising award-winning commercial and residential buildings since 1983 including the spectacular ice Q restaurant on the summit of the Gaislachkogl and the Gaislachkogelbahn and Giggijochbahn cable car stations in Sölden.

Eon in Negotiations to Film Bond 25 in Croatia

Almost a year has passed since Mi6 first reported that Croatia was being considered as a possible filming location for Bond 25. Since then, little news on the development of Bond 25 has been made publicly available. Behind closed doors, however, it seems that things are moving along.

Speaking at a press conference about the filming of ‘Robin Hood: Origins’ in the city, the Mayor of Dubrovnik Andro Vlahušić told Portal Oko that “James Bond is in an advanced stage of negotiations.”

This is not the first time James Bond has visited Croatia. In 2015, Heineken used the Croatian town of Rovinj as the setting for their ‘SPECTRE’ promotional tie-in commercial ‘The Chase’. Daniel Craig, however, was not present in the city, with his scenes being filmed on green screen.

Omega’s Chief to Meet with Daniel Craig

Following the news that Eon Productions have purchased a Bell UH-1D helicopter from the Luftfahrt Museum in Germany to be used in Bond 25, it seems that more details are falling into place, with the President of Omega – the official watch of James Bond – revealing that he will be meeting with Daniel Craig later this month.

Speaking to ‘The Australian‘ at the launch of their new flagship store in Martin Place, Omega president and chief executive Raynald Aeschlimann, was asked if “Daniel Craig will sport the Seamaster once more on-screen?”

“I’ll meet with him in two or three weeks, but I’m not the one to decide. (Bond producers) Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson have this incredible spirit about what they want.”
