Naomie Harris and Andrew Scott talk Spectre

SPECTRE star Naomie Harris talked with Big Issue about the upcoming movie this week.

Here’s what she said:

“I watched the Bond movies [growing up] and they were glamorous, sexy, romantic and exciting,” she says. “But I never watched a Bond movie and cried until I saw Casino Royale. That’s when I thought you could have all of those elements, plus you can touch people’s hearts and move them emotionally. That is something new. That is what Daniel brought. No other Bond brought that.”

Craig is the sixth film Bond – or seventh if you include David Niven in 1967’s Casino Royale, which wasn’t made by Eon Productions – so how long can they keep it going?

“We will keep making these movies as long as people want to come and see them,” says Broccoli. “So far we have gotten away with it. Let’s see how long it can last.”

You can find the whole interview, plus Barbara Broccoli’s words on SPECTRE, in this week’s Big Issue

Andrew Scott, Denbigh in the new 007 outcome, talked with about his casting and Sam Smith’s Writing’s on the Wall.

Here’s what he said about SPECTRE title song:

“It took a few listens, but now I’m really into it,” he insisted to Britain’s Heat magazine. “It’s a more subtle Bond theme and all the more interesting for it.”

and about his casting:

“A couple of days later [after he talked with Sam Mendes] I got a call offering me the role,” Andrew said. “I did dance around a bit, I can’t lie. No. I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone for a while – just like all the things I do. I had to wait for the announcement event at Pinewood with the cast. I knew right from the start that it was a big number I had to keep secret.”

And last, about the first day of shooting:

“It was quite scary. I’ve been doing this stuff for a few years, but this was different. We shot on the set of the MI5 offices and I felt like I was stepping into Bond history. It was fairly intimidating to look around and think, ‘Wow, I’m in this rather than just watching.’”
